| Established in the 70s by Sam Woodhouse and D.W. Jacobs from a street theater group called Indian Magique, a company which included Whoopi Goldberg. 2001 is the REP's 25th anniversary in San Diego. The REP produces six plays per year as well as 4 annual festivals/events, including 'A Christmas Carol', a favorite among San Diego natives. Performances are held at the Lyceum at Horton Plaza, the city's most prominent downtown theater. Accumulating over 100 Drama-Logue Awards and the San Diego Critics' Circle Awards, the REP is the third largest theatre in San Diego, serving audiences of over 250,000 annually. |
