Tipitina's has earned the reputation as the heart and soul of the New Orleans music community. Acts as diverse as Harry Connick, Jr., the Neville Brothers, Dr. John, The Funky Meters, and the Subdudes began their careers at Tipitina's. Galactic was also a frequent inhabitant of Tip's.
