| You can observe live bullfights and traditional Mexican dancing every Wednesday night at the Plaza de Toros. The Cancun bullring offers an unbelievable Mexican show that includes flamenco dancers, mariachi bands and folklore performances from various Mexican regions. The show is a good chance to get a glimpse into Mexican culture. The performance lasts for about an hour before the fights begin, but they continue throughout the duration of the bullfights. Shortly before the fights begin, the doors in the ring open to allow the `Charros' to pass. They are all gracefully dressed in Charro uniform, prepared for the week's event. The majesty and ceremonies involved with the bullfights are beautiful, no matter what your opinion of the actual event. Some will see cruelty to animals, while others like Earnest Hemmingway, will see the passion and honor of the sport. Be cognizant that you are visiting a different culture. If you've never been to a bullfight and are interested in attending, here's your chance. |
